A Host of Networking and Learning Opportunities – Workshops on Social Science Research (WSSR)

The Workshops on Social Science Research (WSSR) are short, intensive learning experiences and networking opportunities that allow you to develop your critical thinking skills, make new contacts, and succeed as future decision makers.

The WSSR offer over 35 workshops led by prominent politicians, public servants and academics from Canada and abroad in the areas of public policy, democratic governance, and research methodology. Find out more here: www.concordia.ca/wssr

Workshops range from one to five days and are offered both for credit and non-credit. Drawing participants from several universities, civil servants, professionals from the private sector and members of the general public, the WSSR are open to anyone eager to advance their skills and perspectives.

For those interested in advancing their skills in conducting research, the 2015 series also includes an extended section on Qualitative Research Methods designed in collaboration with the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR). Under this summer methods program, there are two tracks "Interpretive Methods" and "Qualitative Case Studies", each of which includes four different workshops taught by specialists in the field.

Additionally, as in previous years, we are offering a section on Quantitative Methods in cooperation with the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR). This section now includes three five-day advanced methods workshops and an introductory course on R statistical software.

Located on Concordia University’s vibrant downtown campus right at the heart of Montreal, this is a great chance for you to combine unique summer learning with the exciting sights and sounds of this exceptional city.

If you are a student from another Quebec institution, consult your academic advisor and inquire about a potential CREPUQ credit transfer. If you are a student from another institution outside of Quebec, also consult your academic advisor because you may also be eligible for credit equivalencies.

Whether you wish to attend a single workshop or many, you can join us at any time from May 4-June 29, 2015.

Spaces are limited so find out more and register today!
